There is a ?safety-first? attitude at this garage. They also excel at fixing deep, tricky mechanical problems that can crop up, so that your car runs OK. And there are these benefits, too: Taking your car in-warranty to an independent garage does not invalidate your car warranty. You simply keep your service invoices, like oil change records, in case the dealer needs to see them. An advantage to taking your car in-warranty (or out) to an independent garage is that you have a separate set of eyes examining your car, in addition to the ones at the dealer. It is shocking to know that if you have a car mechanical problem, the dealer?s mechanic will not report it to you, unless you bring that problem to the dealer?s mechanic?s attention. The reason for this is that the manufacturer, not the dealer, ultimately pays for warranty repairs, so dealers are encouraged to ignore in-warranty problems. The independent mechanic can identify undetected problems, and then you can report them to the dealer, to have your specific in-warranty problems fixed free. At this garage, they don?t throw parts at a problem, they analyze it. Since I am a ?know-nothing? about car maintenance, that approach to maintenance is rare and valuable to me. |
